So what is this trip all about then?

So.. the Brighton Aldridge Community Academy is going to India!

Overview BACA's main specialism is Entrepreneurship. In order to help our students experience the entrepreneurial attributes 'in action' we have organised a tailor- made, intensive week of social entrepreneurship activities and experiences in India. BACA students were given the opportunity to apply for the fully funded trip, through assemblies in the summer term. 6 students were chosen for their commitment to the Academy and the specialism- Lily Cai, Ruth Purbrick, Alicia Jones, Riziki Millanzi, Tatiarna Day, and Amy- Louise Tilley. We are taking the 6 BACA students to Mumbai and Pune, to stay with families and volunteer at a school, charities and an orphanage. The students will be making a film of their experience which we will showcase at a fundraising event at BACA on the evening of Thursday 1st December. This will be an opportunity for staff/ students/ parents/ community to see what the students have taken part in, engage the local business / charity community, and it will also be an opportunity to fundraise for the charities that we will be working with in India. Students will be leaving BACA at 2.45pm on Wednesday 19th October and returning on the Thursday during half term.
